Daddy's Birthday

On daddy's birthday (and father's day), we had a fun impromptu dinner at our friend the Boyles' home on the Roaring Fork River with their family, Christie and some of her friends. Isabella and Willow were very excited. They chimed in the adult conversation frequently, performed, commanded everyone's attention with their charm and wit, and often by yelling, "Everyone please be quiet!" After staying up until 10 pm we all went to sleep in the safari-style tent in a big brass bed on the riverbank.

Around midnight, without waking, Isabella sat straight up in the big bed and yelled, " Will everyone please be quiet!" once again, then fell back to sleep until the birds chirping along the river woke us up the next morning.

In the middle of the night, Willow woke up and looked at the stars and said "there must be a hundred billion stars up in the sky." Then while falling back to sleep with the sounds of the river surrounding us, she said "do you year the musical instruments in the river? I hear the piano and drums."
